Back in the old days, mattress shoppers had to go to a mattress store. They would actually get in the car, drive across town, and deal with a pushy mattress salesperson. While those days aren’t exactly behind us, there’s now a much easier way to buy a quality mattress: online.
In the past decade, hunting for the best online mattress has become increasingly popular. In fact, there are so many options out there, it can be difficult to find the best choice for you. However, I have tested and selected nine of the best online mattresses so you don’t have to. We’ve got memory foam, innerspring, and hybrid mattresses — something for every type of sleeper.

How We Chose the Best Online Mattresses
Our team of Certified Sleep Science Coaches have reviewed more than 150 mattresses, using proprietary analysis and hands-on testing to establish easy-to-understand scores. In addition to an overall score, we measure subscores for support, edge support, cooling, motion transfer, durability, trial period, and warranty.
Sleepers usually want an online mattress for the warranty and trial period, especially if they aren’t able to test out the mattress in a store. Additionally, support and durability are two commonly desired qualities of a mattress. Eight of these 10 mattresses scored at least a 4 out of 5 for their trial periods and warranties. Additionally, all of these mattresses scored at least a 3.5 out of 5 in both support and durability.
And if you don’t find what you’re looking for here, try taking our mattress quiz to receive tailored recommendations for your preferences.

Our Expert’s Take
If you’re simply looking for the best online mattress, you’re going to want to check out the Nectar. It’s one of the most popular bed-in-a-box mattresses out there, and is also one of the most comfortable.
The Nectar is an all-foam mattress that features gel memory foam, hi-core memory foam, and base foam. With two thick layers of memory foam right on top, it really lets you sink and feel enveloped. It truly has that hug-like feel that many have come to expect from memory foam.
Also, given that it is a softer memory foam mattress, the Nectar is an excellent fit for side sleepers. When you lie down on your side, you should feel almost no pressure on your shoulders and hips.
What We Love About the Nectar
- The Nectar is an all-foam memory foam mattress that provides that classic memory foam feel.
- It also offers good contouring for back sleepers.
- The Nectar features gel infusions and a Tencel cover, which should both keep the mattress from trapping heat.
What to Keep in Mind About the Nectar
- It’s not supportive enough for people who weigh more than 230 lb.
- It’s not supportive enough for stomach sleepers and could worsen lower back pain when sleeping in this position.
- Fans of a bouncier feel should consider getting the Nectar Hybrid mattress instead.
Other User Reviews
Based on 61,947 reviews on the company website, the Nectar has an average rating of 4.7 out of 5. Many customers liked its supportive, cradling feel and felt that it did a good job of alleviating pressure and lessening back pain. Some, however, felt that they sank too far into the mattress for optimal comfort.

Our Expert’s Take
When shopping for a Helix mattress, customers can do one of two things: they can choose from one of Helix’s extensive line of mattresses or take a quiz on their website. Helix will then recommend a mattress based specifically on those answers.
To get you started, take a look at the Helix Midnight mattress. This is their most popular model and is one of the best hybrid mattresses on the market. It offers an excellent balance of comfort and support and offers a combination of pressure-relieving foam and strong coils. This makes it an especially good fit for side sleepers and back sleepers.
Those who have a bit more money to spend and want to splurge on a luxury mattress can also opt for one of Helix’s Luxe upgrades. This adds zoning to the coils, as well as a Tencel cover or GlacioTex™ Cooling Pillow Top that will improve breathability and cooling. So, those who are feeling confused by all the options out there should consider a Helix mattress. It takes the guesswork out of the equation.
What We Love About the Helix Midnight
- Helix offers a variety of mattress models for customers to choose from. They have very soft mattresses, very firm mattresses, and even a mattress made for larger people.
- The Helix is one of the best mattresses for couples.
- Luxe upgrades are also available for every Helix mattress. This adds more comfort, cooling, and luxury.
What to Keep in Mind About the Helix Midnight
- Average-weight and heavyweight stomach sleepers might find that their hips sink out of alignment on this mattress, which could lead to lower back pain.
- Although the mattress works for most heavier sleepers, sleepers over 300 lb might need a more supportive mattress in general.
- The Midnight lacks the plush and slow-moving feel of a more traditional memory foam mattress.
Other User Reviews
Based on 6,518 reviews on the company website, the Helix Midnight has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5. Many customers liked its comfort level and felt that it did a good job of supporting the lower back and lessening hip pain. Some, however, felt that it was either too firm or too soft and exacerbated back issues.

Our Expert’s Take
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is a high-quality bed without the hefty price tag. At under $1,000 for a queen (when discounts are applied), you and your wallet can feel good about this mattress. Beyond its affordability, this bed also has some great features, including a hybrid construction that offers a great mix of comfort and support.
We also recommend this bed for couples. It dissipates body heat quite well, which is great when you have two sleepers in a bed. It also has enough bounce to make sex easy, another perk for couples.
Another great feature of the Signature Hybrid is that it comes in three firmness options. This means you can choose whether you want a soft, medium-firm, or firm model. Any type of sleeper should be able to find their optimal firmness with this mattress.
What We Love About the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid
- The hybrid construction makes it a great fit for combination sleepers who may change positions through the night.
- Since the Signature Hybrid is made of high-quality materials, we expect it to last up to 10 years.
- Sleepers can get the best of both worlds — the memory foam layer gives this mattress a pillow-top feel, while the coils still provide a “springy” feel.
What to Keep in Mind About the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid
- The Medium model might not be supportive enough for many heavyweight sleepers—particularly side and stomach sleepers. If this is you, consider the Brooklyn Bedding Titan instead.
- It lacks some of the higher-end features of a more luxurious mattress.
Other User Reviews
Based on 10,678 reviews on the company website, the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid has an average rating of 4.7 out of 5. Many customers liked its comfort, high quality, and effective cooling—and also appreciated that the mattress is available in uncommon dimensions, such as RV sizes. Some, however, felt that the mattress feels too soft in the middle.

Our Expert’s Take
Stomach sleepers under 250 pounds searching for an online mattress with a firm, traditional feel should try the Saatva. It’s one of the best innerspring mattresses on the market. The Saatva features not one but two layers of coils, a thick layer of support coils, as well as a layer of micro-coils. On top of the mattress, there’s a plush Euro-style pillow-top.
The pillow-top should provide just enough pressure relief for stomach sleepers, while the support coils hold up the body and keep the spine aligned. Depending on your body type, you can choose from one of Saatva’s three firmnesses and purchase the selection that suits your needs.
Because it’s made of such quality materials, you shouldn’t experience sagging with this mattress. This means that this bed keeps stomach sleepers in the proper position throughout the night.
What We Love About the Saatva
- Combination sleepers of many sizes should love the responsiveness and versatility of the Saatva mattress.
- The Saatva should be a cooler-sleeping mattress; the two layers of coils allow for a great deal of airflow.
- The mattress contains some very durable materials, making this a great long-term investment.
What to Keep in Mind About the Saatva
- It might not be the best choice for lightweight side sleepers (unless you get the Plush Soft model) because it doesn’t offer a lot of pressure relief.
- It doesn’t isolate motion as well as some mattresses, so it’s possible you’ll feel your partner’s tossing and turning.
Other User Reviews
Based on 3,245 reviews on the company website, the Saatva has an average rating of 4.8 out of 5. Many customers liked its comfort and firmness level and felt that it did a good job of alleviating back and neck pain. Some, however, had issues with customer service responses and shipping times.

Our Expert’s Take
There’s nothing quite like sleeping on a hotel mattress, which tends to have irresistible support, comfort, and luxury. Those customers who want to bring that specific experience home should consider the WinkBed. The brand has four luxury innerspring mattresses with different firmnesses that range from Soft to Plus (their mattress for heavy people).
All of the WinkBed models contain two layers of coils and a pillow-top. I personally reviewed the WinkBed Luxury Firm model, and it features an excellent balance of comfort and support that should be attractive to back sleepers. Side sleepers should also like this model or, if they want more pressure relief, they can opt for the Soft model.
The WinkBed also contains very durable materials that should stand up to many years of use. While these aren’t the most affordable mattresses, they are a solid long-term investment.
What We Love About the WinkBed
- It boasts an innerspring feel — great for those who love traditional mattresses.
- The WinkBed is one of the best mattresses for lower back pain and sciatica.
- The two sets of coils allow for a large amount of airflow through the mattress, so the WinkBed shouldn’t be sleeping too hot.
What to Keep in Mind About the WinkBed
- Heavier sleepers should opt for the WinkBed Plus—softer models of the bed might not provide sufficient support and alignment.
- The mattress doesn’t have that slow, sinking feel of memory foam feel that some people prefer.
Other User Reviews
Based on 8,564 reviews on the company website, the WinkBed has an average rating of 4.8 out of 5. Many customers liked its versatility firmness options and felt that it did a good job of aligning the spine and preventing back and neck pain. Some, however, felt that was uncomfortable on pressure points and caused more pain.

Our Expert’s Take
The Nolah is an all-foam mattress that features AirFoam, a proprietary alternative to memory foam that, based on our pressure-map testing, offers superior pressure relief.
While I worry that larger side sleepers could bottom out on the mattress, light- and medium-weight side sleepers should feel no significant pressure on their shoulders and hips. This makes it one of the best mattresses for side sleepers.
AirFoam is also designed to be more breathable than standard memory foam, so it shouldn’t be trapping heat. If you often sleep hot at night, this shouldn’t be a major issue with the Nolah.
What We Love About the Nolah
- It’s one of our best mattresses for hip pain and back pain.
- The Nolah is also more affordable than many mattresses on this list.
- In general, the Nolah is one of the best mattresses for lightweight people.
What to Keep in Mind About the Nolah
- Heavy people probably won’t get the support they need while back-sleeping or stomach-sleeping.
- Most stomach sleepers will find this mattress to be too soft for good alignment.
Other User Reviews
Based on hundreds of reviews on the company website, the Nolah has an average rating of 4.9 out of 5. Many customers liked its pressure relief and felt that it did a good job of supporting their backs. They also praised the customer service and fast delivery. Some, however, felt that it was too soft.

Our Expert’s Take
Here at Mattress Clarity, we use something called the firmness scale to determine how firm a bed really is. It’s on a 10-point scale, with the industry standard for medium firm being a 6.5. The DreamCloud came in at a 7.5, proving that it’s a truly firm mattress.
A luxury hybrid, the DreamCloud has a layer of soft memory foam over a support layer of individually wrapped coils. Although sleepers will experience a firm feel, they should also get a bit of pressure relief and contouring from that top layer.
The blend of comfort and support should be a good fit for back sleepers and combination sleepers. With the DreamCloud’s responsiveness, it should be easy to switch sleeping positions on the bed.
What We Love About the DreamCloud
- It’s a cool-sleeping mattress, due to a soft and breathable cashmere-blend cover and the airflow-promoting coils below.
- The cover is quilted with a little bit of foam to give it that luxurious pillow-top look and feel.
- The brand offers a softer model called the DreamCloud Premier.
What to Keep in Mind about the DreamCloud
- It lacks a slow-moving feel. If this is what you’re looking for, consider getting one of the best memory foam mattresses.
- Heavier people won’t get the ideal amount of pressure relief and support.
- Side sleepers in general might not find it provides enough pressure relief.
Other User Reviews
Based on 8,384 reviews on the company website, the DreamCloud has an average rating of 4.6 out of 5. Many customers liked its firmness and felt that it did a good job of supporting comfortable back sleeping. Some, however, felt that it lacked sufficient edge support when sitting on the side of it.

Our Expert’s Take
If you tend to change positions throughout the night, you’ll want a mattress that makes moving around easy. The Bear Elite Hybrid is a great choice for combination sleepers because its bouncy coils make switching positions a breeze.
The Bear Elite Hybrid is a medium-firm bed, which means it will feel comfortable in most sleeping positions. It also is constructed with zoned support — this makes it softer at the head and foot and firmer in the center. This design promotes a neutral spinal alignment in all sleeping positions.
This bed is also a great choice for hot sleepers. It’s made with copper-infused memory foam, which helps draw away body heat and is antimicrobial. In addition, the pocketed coils help promote airflow throughout the mattress. Lastly, this bed has a phase change material cover, which is the gold standard for cooling covers.
What We Love About the Bear Elite Hybrid
- The coils surrounding the perimeter of the mattress give it great edge support.
- The coils in this mattress also make it a great mattress for sex, as it allows for movement.
- The hybrid materials make for a great balance of comfort and support.
What to Keep in Mind About the Bear Elite Hybrid
- It doesn’t provide sufficient support for sleepers over 230 lb.
- If you’re looking for a slow-moving memory foam mattress, you’ll want to keep looking—this one has a springier coil feel to it.
Other User Reviews
Based on 337 reviews on the company website, the Bear Elite Hybrid has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5. Many customers liked the support level of the firm model and felt that the mattress delivered on its cooling promises. Some, however, felt that the mattress just didn’t work for them and was either too firm or too soft for their needs.

Our Expert’s Take
If you’re a memory foam lover who wants the benefits of memory foam without the drawbacks of feeling stuck in bed, you should love the Plank Firm and everything it has to offer.
We recommend this mattress to stomach sleepers and sufferers of back pain especially, because the Plank’s very-firm construction creates a nice elevation of the hips so that they align with the spine. The Plank mattress is also a flippable mattress that has a slightly less firm side that may be enjoyable for back sleepers.
Though the Plank is a memory foam mattress, it does have some great cooling features. Firstly, the brand offers the option to add a cooling panel to both sides. Also, since this is a firm mattress that you won’t sink into, you’re less likely to feel overheated while you sleep.
What We Love About the Plank Firm
- The Plank Firm uses foams that are CertiPUR-US certified and low in VOCs.
- The Plank is incredibly durable, especially for a memory foam mattress. The fact that the mattress can be flipped also helps ensure that your mattress may last long.
- Brooklyn Bedding, Plank’s parent company, provides a 10-year warranty and 120-night sleep trial, allowing customers lots of time to decide if it’s truly the best mattress for their needs.
What to Keep in Mind About the Plank Firm
- Side sleepers won’t get the pressure relief they need from either side of the mattress.
- If you’re not used to a firm mattress, you’ll likely find that the Plank Firm feels hard. Most sleepers prefer mattresses closer to the medium-firm part of the scale.
Other User Reviews
Based on 2,921 reviews on the company website, the Plank Firm has an average rating of 4.8 out of 5. Many customers liked its ultra-firm back support. Some, however, felt that it was too hard for comfort.

Our Expert’s Take
As you may know, memory foam has its drawbacks. Namely, it can sleep hot and make people feel like they’re trapped in their mattress. Neither of these should be a significant issue with the Stearns & Foster Estate collection because the mattresses contain multiple layers of foam and coils that helps dissipate heat.
Being a hybrid mattress, Stearns & Foster Estate mattresses contain IntelliCoil Advanced coils combined with Advanced Adapt Foam. This provides a fantastic balance of comfort and support that back sleepers should be looking for in a mattress.
We also think that with multiple comfort foam layers, there is solid pressure relief — something side sleepers should especially enjoy.
What We Love About the Stearns & Foster Estate
- If you love the mattress but are on a budget, Stearns & Foster offers financing options.
- The Estate collection features 10 different models, so most sleepers shouldn’t have trouble finding something they like.
- Stearns & Foster sells their mattresses in store and online, so you can shop conveniently.
What to Keep in Mind About the Stearns & Foster Estate
- It’s not a good option for heavyweight stomach sleepers. People in this category may “bottom out” on this mattress, which could lead to lower back pain.
- It doesn’t have a contouring memory foam feel, so if that’s your preference, you’ll want to keep looking.
Other User Reviews
Based on 707 reviews on the company website, the Stearns & Foster Estate has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5. Many customers liked its firm feel, high-quality construction, and ideal comfort level. Some, however, felt that it was too firm and wasn’t responsive enough.

Best Online Mattresses for Heavy People
Size and weight are attributes that people should consider when looking for a mattress. After all, something that would be an excellent match for someone who is 5’9” and 160 lb might not work for someone who is larger. See below for our best mattresses for heavy people.
Out of these 10 mattresses, four really stand out as good options for heavier sleepers. First off, we are huge fans of the Saatva mattress; it features two sets of steel coils that should provide enough support for a heavier back sleeper. At the same time, the pillow top should relieve pressure on the shoulder and hips while side-sleeping.
Helix is all about customization. The company offers numerous options to fit a variety of sleepers, and they even offer the Helix Plus, which is designed with larger people in mind. It features supportive coils and a premium comfort layer, and we found it to be a good match for all three sleeping positions.
WinkBeds offers four firmness options, and one is made just for larger people. The WinkBeds Plus is a very supportive and comfortable mattress that should work for every sleeping position.
The Bear Star Hybrid also features supportive coils that can handle heavier weights and a soft comfort layer. It should be a fantastic match for back- and side sleeping.

What Are Online Mattresses?
Rather than having to go into a mattress store, now you can buy your mattress online from the convenience of your home. Bed-in-a-box mattresses make this possible, and the Internet is one of the best places to buy a mattress.
Popular online mattress companies like Casper and Purple have innovated the mattress-buying game by compressing and rolling a mattress into a box that can easily be delivered to your door. Memory foam mattresses are very common in the online mattress world, but you can also purchase latex, hybrid, and innerspring mattresses online!
Online Shopping vs In-Stores
There are a few pros and cons to buying your mattress online. Some people prefer to purchase a new bed from the comfort of their couch. Others want to try it out beforehand. Let’s learn more about the buying process!
Benefits of Buying a Mattress Online
- Companies offer generous trial periods. You aren’t locked into a purchase, and you have plenty of time to figure out whether the mattress is right for you. Most sleep trial periods last 100 days, but some companies let you relax on the mattress for up to a year! If you find your bed doesn’t quite work, you can return it for a full refund. Many bed-in-a-box brands will even send someone to pick up the mattress.
- Buying online means big money savings. Purchasing a mattress in-store can be a headache. It often requires price negotiations and confusing lingo. When you shop online, however, you can easily compare prices and find something that suits your budget. Plus, our Mattress Clarity coupons always shave off some of the cost.
- It’s super convenient. No need to drive to your nearest mattress retailer! You can shop for a comfy bed while lounging in your PJs. Plus, because you can compare brands side-by-side, you have all of the options at your fingertips.
Benefits of Buying a Mattress In-Store
- You can try before you buy. We get it. Buying a mattress sight unseen can feel a bit scary. Some people prefer to test a few mattresses before making a payment. However, all online mattress retailers offer sleep trial periods, so there really isn’t any risk. Plus, our in-depth mattress reviews will help you find the bed that works best for you.
- The online selection can feel overwhelming. When you shop at a traditional mattress retailer, you don’t have as many options to choose from. For some people, this can feel comforting because there isn’t as much information to sift through. However, our detailed mattress comparisons demystify the shopping process and break it into simplified terms.
Types of Online Mattresses
Foam
Foam mattresses typically feel soft and slow-moving. They create excellent pressure relief and body contouring. However, traditional memory foam has a tendency to trap heat. If you’re especially concerned about this, purchase a mattress made with open-celled foam. This material has extra ventilation, which allows for breathability and airflow. Gel and copper infusions also help dissipate body heat.
Latex
Latex foams feel naturally breathable, so they won’t trap heat like many traditional memory foam beds do. They feel super-responsive and bouncy, and many of them are made from eco-friendly materials. Latex mattresses tend to cost a bit more than others, but they have a long lifespan.
Hybrid
Hybrid mattresses contain two different types of materials. Most often, you’ll find hybrid mattresses with a coil base layer and foam comfort layer. These beds are great for many reasons. The springs allow room for airflow, so they don’t trap heat easily. Also, hybrid mattresses create a balanced feel. They usually have a good bit of bounciness and tons of plush comfort on top. These beds are also extremely durable, so they’re great investments.
Innerspring
Like hybrid mattresses, innerspring beds contain a row of supportive coils. This gives the bed plenty of bounce and responsiveness. Many innerspring mattresses take this to the next level and include two layers of coils. Usually, this means there’s a layer of tall, individually wrapped coils at the bottom and a layer of smaller springs above that. This creates body contouring and plenty of support.
Airbed
Often used for camping, airbeds work well when you’re in a pinch. They arrive completely flat, but when you fill them up with air, they become nice cushions for your back. Airbeds are easy to store and hide away, but they’re not great for long-term use. Over time, airbeds can leak and cause strain along the lumbar region.
How to Pick a Mattress Online
So, want to know how to buy a mattress online? When shopping for an online mattress, customers really shouldn’t just be clicking away. They should think about the following factors when deciding on what online mattress is best.
Materials
There are a wide range of materials used to make online mattresses. You can choose between foam/latex mattresses, innerspring mattresses, or hybrid mattresses that are made with a combination of materials. Some sleepers may even have a specific preference to shop for products made with natural materials, in which case those shoppers may want to look for an organic mattress. Some people may sleep hot and want to shop for cooling mattresses with breathable materials.
Firmness and Feel
Online mattresses come in a variety of feels. customers can select a soft memory foam mattress with a slow-moving feel or they could choose something with more of a traditional innerspring mattress feel. No feel is actually better than another; it really depends on what feel someone is looking for.
You’ll also want to consider your mattress’ firmness level. On our scale, we consider 6.5/10 medium firm. This is the industry standard firmness level, but it may not work for every type of sleeper. For example, stomach sleepers need firm beds and side sleepers often need something softer.
Mattress Durability
Mattresses are an investment and it’s important to know how long that investment is going to last: Will the mattress be useful for 10 years or will it start to break down in a few months? To find a durable, longer-lasting mattress, pay attention to the density of the foams and maybe consider something with durable latex. Also, in general, innerspring and hybrid mattresses are going to last a bit longer than an all-foam mattress.
Body Type
When shopping for a mattress, it’s particularly important to find something that will be supportive enough for one’s own body weight. While a certain mattress could be the perfect match for a lightweight person, that same mattress might not be supportive enough for a larger person.
Larger people usually need to find a mattress with coils and higher-density materials, while lighter people can select a mattress with less supportive materials. Check out our guides on the best mattresses for heavy people and the best mattresses for lightweight sleepers to learn more.
Sleeping Position
A person’s sleeping position will definitely determine the type of mattress they should purchase.
- Side sleepers should select a softer-than-average mattress that will provide them with the requisite amount of pressure relief.
- Back sleepers should choose a medium-firm mattress.
- Stomach sleepers should select something firmer-than-average.
- Combination sleepers should look for a responsive, medium to medium-firm mattress that quickly adjusts to their movements.
Health Considerations
Sleepers should consider finding a mattress that supports their particular health condition if applicable. For instance, people who have pain in a specific part of their body need to find a bed that contours and supports the body in all the right places.
If a sleeper has back pain, they’ll need a mattress that offers lumbar support. Take a look at our top picks for the best bed for back pain. Sleepers with neck or shoulder pain (especially those who sleep on their sides) need a softer mattress that contours the body.
Other groups of people may also want to think about finding a mattress well suited to their condition. For instance, seniors or elderly people deal with many sleep problems as they age and need an extra supportive mattress.
Cooling
If you tend to sleep hot at night, you’ll want to make sure your mattress can cool you down. Latex mattresses, in general, feel naturally breathable and cool. Hybrid beds also allow room for airflow, so you shouldn’t overheat at night.
Memory foam mattresses are notorious for trapping heat, but that doesn’t mean you have to forgo their slow-moving comfort. If you especially love memory foam, look for a bed with an open-celled construction. These foams have tiny holes throughout, which allows room for heat to escape. Many memory foam beds also have impressive cooling infusions. Copper and gel memory foam helps pull heat away from the body, keeping sleepers comfortable all night long.

Who is an Online Mattress Best For?
Online mattresses make shopping for a mattress easy. Online mattress shopping can be great for anyone, but there are some people who might especially benefit from it:
- People who want a wide variety of mattresses to choose from. Buying a mattress online allows you to scour the internet for different mattress models and decide which is best for you. You can also do research on the different mattress materials and firmness levels to help make your decision.
- People who want a trial period for their mattresses. Sleep trials are more common for online purchases than for in-store purchases and they typically give sleepers between 100 nights and 365 nights to decide if the mattress is a good fit, and if not, you can get your money back.
- People who can’t access a mattress store. The beauty of online mattress shopping is that it can be done entirely from the comfort of your home. You can pick your mattress and have it delivered right to your door with ease. If you decide you don’t like the mattress, many online retailers will even come and pick the mattress up for you at no extra cost.
- Anyone looking for a new mattress. The Internet has made online mattress buying a quick and easy process, and there are plenty of mattress options available that should suit anyone’s needs.
Paying for an Online Mattress
Budget
Oftentimes, a purchasing decision can come down to your budget. If you want to shop specifically within a certain price range, it’s best to determine that upfront to help you narrow your options.
Many online mattresses are priced around $1,000 for a Queen-size mattress, though you can find many great options well below this price range. If you’re shopping for some of the cheapest mattresses, beware that you get what you pay for. If a mattress is only a few hundred dollars, it may not be very durable or long-lasting.

Online Mattress Delivery
Before adding your mattress to your online cart, you’ll want to investigate the company policies. Reading the fine print can alleviate stress in the long run!
Shipping
Research exactly what each mattress company’s delivery terms are. If the mattress is larger with coils, it’s worth knowing if the company provides free white glove delivery. With this option, movers will actually set up the new mattress in the bedroom and take the old mattress away!
Trial Periods and Returns
As we mentioned earlier, one of the drawbacks of buying a mattress online is that customers can’t actually try out the product before purchasing. Be sure you’re shopping with a company that offers a generous sleep trial period (most range between 100–365 nights) and look into the details for returns and refunds. Most companies offer full refunds as long as you return the mattress during the trial period.
Mattress Warranties
Online mattress companies usually offer generous warranties. Usually, they last between 5 and 10 years and cover any manufacturing defects. Occasionally, you’ll find companies that offer impressive lifetime warranties.
