We ranked the Medium model of the Country Living Hudson around 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. It has plush layers right on top, which contributes to its softer feel.

We found the Hudson mattress to be a great match for back sleeping. Our hips sank in just a touch for some pleasant pressure relief, while the zoning offered nice lumbar support.
We also felt great while side sleeping on the Hudson. We experienced great pressure relief around the shoulder and hip, which are common hot spots for side sleepers.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the Hudson felt too soft for stomach sleeping. Our hips sank too far into the mattress and tugged the spine out of alignment. People who prefer this position will want to seek out a mattress for stomach sleepers.

The Country Living Hudson has a plush, responsive hybrid mattress feel. The plush layers on top offer nice pressure relief, while the coils provide good bounce. Thanks to the responsive coils, it’s easy to move around on this bed.
Average Weight Sleepers – 130lbs – 230lbs
Average-weight back sleepers should enjoy a balance of comfort and support on the Country Living Hudson. Average-weight side sleepers should appreciate the great pressure relief on this plush mattress. Average-weight stomach sleepers will not get enough support on most models of the Hudson, but they could enjoy the Firm model.
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs
Heavyweight back sleepers who weigh less than 275 pounds should find the Hudson mattress to be a good fit, while folks who weigh more than that will probably require a more supportive mattress. The Hudson’s comfort layers start out right on top of the mattress thanks to the cover, which is tufted and quilted with contouring foam. Beneath the plush cover, there’s a 2” layer of copper-infused memory foam. The memory foam offers body contouring and pressure relief, while the copper infusion helps with cooling. Finally, there’s a 1” transition layer made from high-density polyfoam.
Support Layers
The primary support layer on the Hudson mattress consists of a coil system that’s made from 8” of individually-wrapped coils. These coils are zoned to provide extra support near the center of the mattress. They rest on a thin layer of base support foam, which provides structure for the mattress overall.

We ran the Country Living Hudson mattress through a barrage of tests to assess its performance with regard to temperature regulation, motion transfer, durability, edge support, and more. Let’s see how it did!
Sleeping Hot Or Cold
The Hudson mattress features several design features that keep it sleeping cool. These include a cooling cover, a copper infusion in the memory foam layer, and coils, which allow for plenty of airflow throughout the center of the mattress.
Bottom line? This bed should be a good match for folks who are worried about sleeping hot.
Motion Transfer
Even though it has memory foam on top, the Hudson is a pretty bouncy mattress, which means it doesn’t perform the best when it comes to motion transfer. It’s possible that sleep partners could feel each other’s movements traveling across the surface of the mattress.

We found the edge support on the Country Living Hudson to be quite decent. We felt pretty secure while sitting and lying down near the edges of the mattress. This also means that sleepers should be able to utilize the full surface of the bed.
