How Firm is the Snuggle-Pedic Pillow?
The Snuggle-Pedic is an adjustable pillow. This means that depending on the amount of foam pieces you have within the pillow will change how firm it is. After it had time to expand when I unpackaged it, I found the Snuggle-Pedic to be a medium-firm pillow.
It also comes with a bag of additional shredded foam, and when you put more in, it will feel much firmer.
Sleeping on the Snuggle-Pedic Adjustable Foam Pillow
When you unpackage the Snuggle-Pedic pillow, you’re recommended to put it in the dryer for about 20 minutes to maximize its fluffiness. As is, it should be good for side sleepers, and that’s how I tried it to start. Even without the additional foam, I found it supported my neck for side sleeping very well. But if you have broad shoulders, or want it to be taller in general, add in that extra foam.
Moving on to my back, I also felt good comfort and support. It’s recommended to remove some of the fill when moving over to your back, but I didn’t find the need to.
Finally, moving on to my stomach, I recommend removing some of the fill. I felt some strain on my neck when I tested it — I didn’t remove any fill initially just to make sure if I needed to or not. Once I removed a good amount of the foam pieces, the Snuggle-Pedic became much more comfortable for stomach sleeping.
30-60 Min Nap
When it came time to take a nap on the Snuggle-Pedic, I opened the zipper and put back all of the foam I had removed. I’m a side sleeper, so that’s how I rested for this nap. It felt very soft, and I sank in just a little bit, but still felt very supported while I napped.
I should note, you’re not going to avoid making a mess here. The foam can clump together well, but there are stragglers, so be aware there might be some clean up when it comes to adjusting the foam.
Being able to adjust the height was really nice. While it can take some trial and error to find that sweet spot, once you do you’re set. And because this has a bamboo pillow cover around it, I didn’t find myself overheating.
What Does the Snuggle-Pedic Adjustable Foam Pillow Feel Like?
Memory foam is slow-moving, contouring, and will let you sink into it a good amount. That’s exactly what you’ll feel when you use the Snuggle-Pedic.
Average Weight Sleepers – 130 lb – 230 lb
Average weight sleepers of all sleeping positions should enjoy the Snuggle-Pedic pillow. Side sleepers will want to keep the pillow rather full of the foam fill. If you have broad shoulders, consider adding a bit more in to accommodate the bigger gap in your neck and shoulder area.
Back sleepers would be better off removing a bit of the foam to keep your head from jutting too far into your chest. Finally, stomach sleepers will want to remove a good amount of the foam pieces to make it low and flat to avoid developing neck pain.
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230 lb
Heavier side sleepers, such as myself, will want to keep the pillow full of the foam it comes with, or add in more foam. Because we tend to compress the foam more, getting as much support as we can is necessary to keep our heads from dipping too low.
Back sleepers might also enjoy the pillow out of the box as is, but if you find your head jutting too far into your chest, remove some of the foam. For stomach sleepers, remove a good amount of foam to get it low and flat.
Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130 lb
Similar to the other body types, the Snuggle-Pedic works well for lightweight sleepers. Though if you are a side sleeper with narrower shoulders, removing some of the fill is recommended. Stomach sleepers will need to remove a good chunk of the foam to get it to the loft that works best for this sleeping position.

The Snuggle-Pedic is full of high-quality materials. Here’s a breakdown of these materials.
Cover
The removable outer cover is made from a blend of materials. It consists of bamboo viscose, polyester and lycra. The cover also features something called Kool-Flow micro-vented material that allows for airflow and makes the bamboo cover very breathable.
Core
On the inside of the pillow you’ll find, as the name suggests, shredded memory foam. The Snuggle-Pedic also comes with a plastic bag full of additional memory foam.
You can add in this foam to make it firmer and taller, or you can save the bag and use it as a way to store excess foam.
This memory foam also has a few certifications. It is CertiPUR-Us and Greenguard Gold certified. This means that the foam is produced without ozone depleters, volatile organic compounds (VOC), flame retardants, and heavy metals.
Weight
The Snuggle-Pedic, when full of all the foam it comes with, is roughly 6 lb.
Height/Loft
Because the Snuggle-Pedic is an adjustable pillow, the loft (or height) can change depending on how much fill it has.
Right out of the box, it’s roughly 4”-5” tall, which should work for most back sleepers. However, it is recommended that you fluff it up in the dryer on high heat for about 20 minutes. This can help the memory foam expand.

So, we know how the Snuggle-Pedic performs for different sleeping positions. But how does it fare in a few other key performance factors? Let’s find out.
Sleeping Hot or Cold
Memory foam can be notorious for trapping heat. But one of the best things about this pillow is that it has been optimized for cooling. Shredded foam already has a leg up over a single slab of memory foam, as it allows for air to flow through much easier. But the cooling innovations don’t stop there.
The cover is made of bamboo viscose, which is a great material for hot sleepers. It’s breathable and moisture-wicking so you won’t feel hot and sweaty on this pillow.
The cover also uses something called Kool-Flow material, which is ventilated to further promote airflow and breathability.
Off-Gassing
The Snuggle-Pedic pillow comes to you compressed in plastic. You will need to let it off-gas and expand when you remove it from its packaging. It may have a slight chemical smell to it, which is a result of the compression. However, this should dissipate after about 24 hours.
Care Instructions
The Snuggle-Pedic pillow is fully machine-washable. If you do choose to wash the entire pillow, I do recommend keeping the outer cover on while doing so.
You will need to remove excess water and let it air dry, or tumble dry on the lowest heat setting your dryer has. I would, however, recommend only washing the outer cover if possible. Washing the entire pillow caused a bit of hassle, and took several hours to fully dry out, in my experience.

Snuggle-Pedic vs Brooklyn Bedding
One other type of foam you’ll see in pillows is Talalay latex foam. It can also come shredded or in a single piece. If you’re worried about the shredded foam clumping in areas, the Brooklyn Bedding Talalay latex pillow is a single piece of latex foam that will stay nice and even.
Latex is a very durable material and because the foam is perforated with holes, it’s a great option for hot sleepers. The Snuggle-Pedic won’t trap heat either, however, thanks to a breathable bamboo cover.
But the main difference between these two pillows is their feel. Latex foam feels very bouncy and responsive, and you won’t feel trapped in it. This makes it easy to move around on, especially if you toss and turn during the night.
