Sweet Zzz is a mattress and bedding brand dedicated to using sustainable and eco-friendly materials in its bedding. The brand has a number of bedding products from pillows, mattress protectors and pads as well as a latex mattress.

What Do the Sweet Zzz Bamboo Sheets Feel Like?
The main characteristic for bamboo sheets is a smooth, silky feel. These sheets are also woven with a sateen weave, which is a weave style that gives sheets a glossy, satin-like look and feel. Sweet Zzz Bamboo Sheets Materials
As the name suggests, the Sweet Zzz bamboo sheets are made out of 100% bamboo viscose. This bamboo has been OEKO-Tex certified, meaning the production process is free of harsh chemicals and heavy metals.
Sweet Zzz prides itself on being an eco-friendly company. The brand is part of the Sustainable Furnishing Council and has several other certifications for its other products that are dedicated to using organic materials. The bamboo used for these sheets was grown in sustainable forests.
These sheets feature a thread count of 400, which is a fairly standard, if not slightly higher, thread count for bamboo sheets. Really, the only things that thread count influences are the breathability and the texture of a set of sheets. With a thread count of 400, these sheets will feel fairly smooth and soft and have a good amount of breathability.

30-60 Min Nap
When I test sheets, I usually try to take a quick nap just to get a feel for the set of sheets. But. as it happens, I needed to wash my current set of sheets the day I tested the Sweet Zzz sheets out, so I figured I’d give the Sweet Zzz bamboo sheets a proper full-night test.
I am a bamboo sheet fan, so it should be no surprise that I ended up loving these sheets. After an initial wash out of the packaging, the sheets felt very soft, smooth, and lightweight. As a hot sleeper, and as someone who used to sleep with mostly polyester sheets growing up, bamboo is such a welcome addition to my bedroom.
It was a bit chilly outside the night I tested these sheets, so I did end up adding a thin blanket on top. But truth be told, this is my usual set up for sleeping anyway. The thin blanket definitely helped me stay nice and cozy while I slept, too.
These sheets had a good fit for my mattress, too. The pockets in the fitted sheets are 15” deep, so they should stay securely on most average height mattresses (ranging from about 10” to 14” tall). My mattress is 12” tall, so the fitted sheet had a good, snug fit but the corners weren’t going to pop up as I moved around.

What to Consider Before Buying
Now that we’ve gone over the feel and materials used for the Sweet Zzz bamboo sheets, let’s cover some other considerations before clicking “check out.”
Sleeping Hot or Cold
Bamboo sheets are, more often than not, going to sleep relatively cool. Bamboo is a material that’s naturally breathable and moisture-wicking. With these two properties, hot sleepers won’t feel hot and sweaty while using the Sweet Zzz bamboo sheets.
I tested these sheets while it was cold outside, and the lightweight feel to these sheets was nice for me as a hot sleeper. But because of the temperature outside, I don’t think the top sheet alone would have been able to keep me warm enough, even with the heater on. I opted for a thin blanket I’ve had for years, and with two thin layers on top of me, I felt cozy without worrying about overheating.
Care Instructions
You can wash the Sweet Zzz bamboo sheets. Here’s what the brand recommends:
- Wash in cold water on a delicate cycle
- Use an organic detergent (if you don’t have an organic detergent, use a mild detergent that doesn’t use harsh chemicals)
- Do not use fabric softener or bleach
- Tumble dry on low heat
It’s a good idea to wash your sheets before first use just to remove any leftover residue and creases from the packaging process.

Bamboo is a naturally antimicrobial material, meaning these sheets naturally resist dust mites and should not attract or trap allergens in your sleep environment. They feel incredibly soft and smooth, so they shouldn’t irritate sensitive skin either.

Set Includes
For this review, I received a Queen-size set in the color light blue. Sweet Zzz offers this set in six colors: white, silver, sand, taupe, light blue, and charcoal. This set included:
- A top/flat sheet
- A fitted sheet
- Two pillowcases
Sweet Zzz offers this set of sheets in all bed sizes, with the Twin and Twin XL only having one pillowcase, while the King and California king sizes have two King-size pillowcases.
Return Policy
From the moment the sheets arrive on your doorstep, you’ll have a window of 50 days to make return or exchange decisions. If, during this window, you decide these aren’t the sheets for you, you can issue a return for a full refund, but will take the shipping fee out of the refund.
Sweet Zzz also notes that the sheets must be clean, undamaged, and returned in the original packaging. If you keep the sheets, however, they come with a lifetime warranty.
How Do the Sweet Zzz Bamboo Sheets Compare To Other Sheets?
If you’ve never used bamboo sheets before, or are between two minds when shopping for your next set of sheets, don’t stress. I’ve taken the time to compare the Sweet Zzz bamboo sheets to a set of linen and cotton sheets from Avocado and Boll & Branch, respectively. This comparison will show the difference in performance and feel between these sheets.
Sweet Zzz vs Avocado
Linens are the oldest type of sheets, and because of the materials used, they feel much different than cotton, polyester, or bamboo sheets do. When it comes to one of my favorite linens, it doesn’t get much better than the Avocado Organic Linens.
Both the Sweet Zzz and Avocado sheets will be good for hot sleepers. Bamboo is breathable and moisture-wicking, and the flax fibers used in linens are just the same. The biggest difference comes down to texture. The Sweet Zzz sheets will feel soft and smooth, almost silk-like. But linens have a slight texture to them. They’ll feel a bit coarse, but high-quality linens like the Avocado sheets shouldn’t feel itchy and scratchy.

Sweet Zzz vs Boll & Branch
Cotton is a standard fabric material for many items these days, sheets being one of them. Weave style plays a big role in how a set of sheets will look and feel. The Sweet Zzz bamboo sheets use the sateen weave, but Boll & Branch has a set of cotton sheets that are woven with the percale weave.
The percale weave will feel very crisp, like a fresh pressed button-up shirt. For some, this is an ideal texture for their sheets. But if you prefer something softer and smoother, the Sweet Zzz sheets will fit the bill here.
Both sets should be fairly cool for hot sleepers due to both of them being breathable and lightweight. Both are offered in color options, but for those who want a bit more variety, Boll & Branch offers its sheets with striped designs, some of which are limited edition.

Why can’t you iron bamboo sheets?
You actually can iron bamboo sheets. But it’s very important that you pay attention to the heat setting of your iron. High heat can shrink your sheets and even damage the bamboo fibers.
If there are persistent wrinkles, ironing the Sweet Zzz sheets on the lowest heat setting could help out. Alternatively, you could throw them in the dryer, again on the lowest heat setting you have, to help remove wrinkles.
Are bamboo sheets worth the hype?
Sheets preferences are very subjective. But as a self-proclaimed bamboo sheet lover, I think bamboo sheets are certainly worth looking into. I love them because they’re smooth, soft, and silk-like. As a hot sleeper, I’ve never once kicked off my bamboo sheets, either. They’re lightweight, breathable, and moisture-wicking, which is a perfect combo for my fellow hot sleepers.
How long will my Sweet Zzz Bamboo sheets last?
I expect the Sweet Zzz Bamboo sheets to last around five to 10 years. Bamboo sheets are incredibly durable, and with the right care, they’ll last you a long time. The Sweet Zzz bamboo sheets should last around three to five years.
