The Novosbed Medium firmness level is what is most comparable to the Nectar mattress. Â I’ll give a breakdown of that mattress here:
- The cover is a thin, strectch-knit and is also removable and washable.
- The top layer is 2 inches of 5 lb. density memory foam that also has air channels in it to enhance air flow.
- The second layer is 2 inches of 5 lb. density memory foam that is a little firmer than the top layer to ease the transition to the support foam below it. Â The use of two layers of high-density memory foam means the mattress will sharply contour to the body for great spinal alignment.
- The base layer is 7 inches of 1.8 lb. density poly foam, which is a fairly standard layer seen in foam mattresses.

Construction Differences
- The mattresses have the same thickness overall and should be able to support a similar amount of weight.
- The Nectar comfort layer is one inch thicker than the Novosbed, potentially making it better for heavier side sleepers as a result.
