Casper Wave vs. Leesa Sapira Hybrid: Overview

Casper Wave and Leesa Sapira Hybrid are both mattresses that are sold online and have a balanced foam feel. Leesa Sapira Hybrid contains coils, while the Wave is all-foam. We’ll compare the two in this post to help consumers determine which will be most appropriate for their needs and preferences.

Key Similarities

  • Both incorporate memory foam but have a balanced foam feel.
  • They are of similar thickness. (Casper wave is 11.5″ thick; Leesa Sapira Hybrid is 11″ thick.)
  • Both offer 100-night trials, free shipping, and great customer service.

Key Differences

  • Casper Wave is a little more expensive.
  • Leesa Sapira Hybrid will be firmer for the majority of sleepers.
  • Leesa Sapira Hybrid has coils, while Casper Wave has polyfoam in the support layer.
  • Casper Wave has zoned support, meaning the mattress is firmer in some parts and softer in others to accommodate the needs of different areas of a sleeper’s body.
  • Leesa Sapira Hybrid has strong edge support, perhaps the best in the industry.

Casper Wave Construction

  • Casper Wave is wrapped in a thick, soft, durable cover. Its top layer is 1″ of proprietary “Flo Foam,” which is soft, relieves pressure, and provides some body contouring.
  • The second layer is 1.5″ of supportive latex foam, which is followed by a 1.5″ layer of responsive, visco-elastic memory foam.
  • 1.5″ of high-resiliency foam with a polymer network helps distribute weight evenly. This layer works with the 5.5″ base layer to create the Wave’s zoned support system. Key to this system are contour cuts in the foam of the supportive base.

Leesa Sapira Hybrid Construction

  • Leesa Sapira Hybrid has 1.5″ of breathable cooling premium foam on top, giving the mattress bounce. This latex-like layer also helps ensure cool sleeping and durability.
  • The middle layer is 1.5″ of memory foam, which helps the mattress conform to contours. This layer also gives Leesa Sapira Hybrid a balanced foam feel and makes sure sleepers get the pressure relief they need.
  • The supportive bottom layer contains steel coils sandwiched by 1″ layers of stabilizing foam. This structure helps give Leesa Sapira Hybrid its great edge support that allows sleepers to utilize the full surface area of the bed.
