Our spine felt properly supported, while the top layer of Bio-Pur foam offered some gentle body contouring and pressure relief. Out of the Amerisleep models, the AS3 is one of the best mattresses for back sleepers.
We also felt really comfortable while side sleeping on the Amerisleep AS3. The thick layer of Bio-Pur foam helped cushion our joints, and we felt almost no pressure on our shoulders and hips. Folks who like an even plusher mattress might want to consider the AS4 or AS5 models.
The Amerisleep AS3 did not feel like a great match for stomach sleeping. The thick layer of Bio-Pur foam allowed our hips to sink too far into the mattress, which pulled the spine out of alignment. Folks who sleep on their stomach will want to look for a more supportive mattress for stomach sleepers.
What Does the Amerisleep AS3 Feel Like?
The Amerisleep AS3 features a comfort layer made of Bio-Pur foam, which is simultaneously pressure-relieving and responsive. The Amerisleep AS3’s primary comfort layer consists of 3” of plant-based and open-celled Bio-Pur foam, which is simultaneously pressure-relieving and responsive. Sleeping Hot Or Cold
The Amerisleep AS3’s cooling cover and open-celled Bio-Pur foam make this mattress more breathable than many all-foam beds. That said, it’s still an all-foam mattress, so it could trap some heat.
