Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Mattress Video Review
Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Mattress Overview
Brooklyn Bedding makes several different foam and hybrid mattresses that appeal to a wide range of people. In addition to the variety, Brooklyn Bedding is known for giving customers a good value. Each new bed is made in the USA at Brooklyn Bedding’s factory in Phoenix, Arizona. That means the brand can cut out the middleman and provide customers with affordable and high-quality mattresses.
Let’s take a deep dive into Brooklyn Bedding’s most luxurious option, the Sedona Elite mattress. This hybrid mattress is made with gel-infused memory foam and Ascension X coils. Is this the new mattress for you? Keep reading to find out!
Pros of the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite
- The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite is a great match for most back and side sleepers because of its medium-firmness. If you sleep in one or both of these positions, you should feel a balance of comfort and support from its hybrid construction.
- Hybrid mattresses are ideal for hot sleepers because they allow for air to flow through its innerspring coil system. The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite also comes with a cooling cover and gel-infused memory foam to keep hot sleepers cool.
- For a luxury mattress, the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite is sold at an affordable price. Brooklyn Bedding owns its own factory, which means it can slash prices and pass the savings along to the customer.
Cons of the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite
- Although the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite offers a fair amount of support, it does not offer enough support to most stomach sleepers. Unless you are a lightweight sleeper (under 130 lb), this mattress is not firm enough to elevate the hips in proper spinal alignment while stomach sleeping.
- This mattress does have memory foam layers, but does not have have a slow-moving memory foam feel. Its innerspring coil system gives the mattress more responsiveness than an all-foam mattress.
- The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite collapsed a bit during our edge support test. It feels supportive while sitting on the edge, but I didn’t feel as supported laying down near the edge.

Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Mattress Firmness and Feel
In order to learn who a new mattress might be right for, I always look closely at its firmness level and feel. Let’s take a deep dive into the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite.
How Firm is the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite?
On the Mattress Clarity firmness scale, the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite mattress is a 6.5/10. This rating is the industry standard, and it has a medium-firm feel that’s supportive for most sleeping positions. The memory foam layers provide plenty of comfort, while the coil system adds necessary support.
Sleeping On The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite
The Brooklyn Bedding’s memory foam layer provides just enough comfort for back sleepers. The top layer should gently hug the body, and the pocketed coils should be supportive enough to prevent back pain.
Side sleepers will also feel comfortable sleeping on this hybrid mattress. There is plenty of body contouring happening around the hips and shoulders, alleviating pain along with pressure points.
Stomach sleeping on the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite isn’t as comfortable or supportive, however. Those who prefer this sleeping position will want a firmer mattress that can prevent hips from dipping into the top layer. For more information, take a look at the best mattresses for stomach sleepers.
What Does the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Feel Like?
The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite combines the feeling of slow-response comfort foam with the bounce of a traditional innerspring mattress. Its balanced hybrid feel will allow sleepers to gently sink into the top of the mattress without feeling like they are “stuck” inside it.
Sleeper Weight | Back Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Stomach Sleepers |
Lightweight (Under 130 lb) | Excellent | Excellent | Fair |
Average (130 – 230 lb) | Excellent | Excellent | Bad |
Heavyweight (Over 230 lb) | Good | Good | Bad |
Is the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Mattress Good For Lightweight People (Under 130 lb)?
- Lightweight back sleepers will find enough support sleeping on the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite. It is plush enough to provide much-needed pressure relief and firm enough to keep these sleepers in proper alignment.
- Side sleepers who weigh less than 130 lb will also comfortable on the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite. These sleepers should experience excellent body contouring around the shoulders and hips from gently sinking into the comfort foam.
- The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite could be a good match for lightweight stomach sleepers. However, if this is your preferred sleep position, you might benefit from sleeping on a slightly firmer mattress.
Is the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Mattress Good For Average Weight People (130 – 230 lb)?
- Back sleepers who weigh between 130 and 230 lb should feel supported on the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Hybrid. They should also receive a good amount of pressure relief from its memory foam comfort layer.
- The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite is most ideal for average weight side sleepers. The top comfort layers relieve pain on pressure points, which is something to consider when shopping for the best mattresses for side sleepers.
- Average weight stomach sleepers will likely think like the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite feels too soft. Stomach sleepers need a mattress with a higher firmness level so that their bodies stay in the proper alignment.
Is the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Mattress Good For Heavyweight People (Over 230 lb)?
- Back sleepers who weigh between 230 and 300 lb should feel quite comfortable on the Brooklyn Sedona Elite Hybrid. The plush comfort layers gently hug the body and provide the right amount of comfort. Those who weigh more than 300 lb may sink deeper into the comfort layers, making the mattress feel more firm.
- Heavier side sleepers should find the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite feels supportive and comfortable. Just like with back sleeping, those over 300 lb may sink too deeply into its foam layers, which could feel slightly uncomfortable.
- This bed is not a good match for heavier stomach sleepers. In general, stomach sleepers should look for a firm mattress that can keep their body in proper alignment throughout the night. If you are larger, take a look at the Titan Luxe Hybrid or Titan Firm Hybrid mattresses from Brooklyn Bedding.

Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Mattress Performance
Before buying an online mattress, it’s important to learn all about its features. Keep reading to get information about the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite’s motion transfer, edge support and durability.
Sleeping Hot or Cold
Many memory foam mattresses have a tendency to get hot. But because the Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Hybrid also has a high-quality coil system, sleepers shouldn’t build up body heat throughout the night. To make things even better, The Brooklyn Sedona Hybrid has an advanced cooling panel inside the cover and some gel memory foam in the comfort layers. The end result is a hybrid mattress that feels cool-to-the-touch.
Motion Transfer
Couples who sleep in the same bed may want to take a close look at a mattress’s motion transfer. If it doesn’t perform well in terms of motion isolation, they could wake up when their partner changes sleeping positions in the middle of the night.
If motion transfer is a top priority, the Brooklyn Bedding mattress may be a good option. During my tests, I noticed slight movement on one side of the mattress, but it wasn’t especially distracting. Check out our list of best mattresses for motion isolation for more options.
Edge Support
Edge support is another important factor to consider, especially for couples sleeping in the same bed. If a new mattress lacks edge support, partners may not be able to utilize the full size of the bed.
The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Hybrid has good edge support when sitting on the side of the bed. Lying down, the mattress does collapse a bit. Overall, the Sedona Elite mattress’ edge support is just okay.
Durability
If durability is top of mind, the Sedona Elite Hybrid mattress is a good option. Because it’s made with high-quality memory foam and pocketed coils, it should last for at least 10 years.
Off-Gassing
It’s common to notice a slight chemical smell when unboxing a new mattress. This is called off-gassing, and it was prevalent in the Sedona Elite hybrid mattress for about 48 hours. After the first two days, though, the smell completely went away.
Noise
I did not notice any noise coming from the Sedona Elite hybrid mattress during testing. It’s possible the coil system could squeak over time, but I generally do not think this will be a noisy mattress.
Sex
Partners who are looking for one of the best mattresses for sex may prefer a bed that won’t “trap” them inside the top layer. The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Hybrid is a good mattress for sex because it’s responsive and easy to move around on.

Common Brooklyn Bedding Mattress Complaints
It’s not uncommon to find a few complaints about online mattresses. Most of the Brooklyn Bedding issues I read have to do with shipping and returns. After speaking with customer service representatives, however, most customers easily solved the problem.
I have also seen a few online complaints about Brooklyn Bedding’s 120-night trial period. Often times, this is because a customer didn’t thoroughly read the fine print. Before buying an online mattress, I always recommend thoroughly reading the warranty and return information.
