Tomorrow Sleep vs. DreamCloud Premier: Overview

Tomorrow Sleep and DreamCloud Premier are both mattresses that combine foam and spring and are sold online. Two of the main differences between the mattresses are price and level of firmness.

We’ll break down how they compare in greater depth in this Tomorrow Sleep vs DreamCloud Premier comparison post.

Key Similarities

  • Both incorporate both springs and foam.
  • Both offer free shipping, generous sleep trials, and great customer service.

Key Differences

  • DreamCloud Premier is thicker. (Tomorrow Sleep is 10 inches, DreamCloud is 15 inches)
  • DreamCloud is more expensive. ($550-1,150 for Tomorrow Sleep, about $1,000-$1,700 for DreamCloud)
  • DreamCloud is firmer, but Tomorrow Sleep has more firmness options.

Tomorrow Sleep Construction

  • Tomorrow Sleep’s Medium Soft and Medium Firm versions have slightly different constructions.
  • Both have a cover made of polyester and nylon.
  • The top layer of both is 1 inch of memory foam with phase change material.
  • In both versions, the second layer is gel foam, which provides comfort and bounce beneath the top layer. However, this layer is thicker in the Medium Soft option.
  • The Medium Firm option has an additional layer of “dynamic response foam” under the gel foam layer. This foam feels similar to memory foam.
  • The 6-inch support consists of individually pocketed coils in both firmness levels. The Medium Firm option uses thicker coils, though.
  • A foam side rail system reinforces edge support.
  • At the base of each version of the mattress is 1 inch of stabilizing foam.

DreamCloud Premier Construction

  • DreamCloud differs from many mattresses in that it has more layers, many of which are of narrower thickness than used in layers of other mattresses.
  • DreamCloud uses a True Tufted™ Cashmere Top, which features hand-sewn tufts and has a Eurotop feel.
  • The top layer is .39 inches (1 centimeter) of gel-infused memory foam.
  • Next is 1.77 inches (4.5 centimeters)  of quilted memory foam. The foam is actually split into two layers of 2 centimeters and 2.5 centimeters.
  • Below the memory foam is .39 inches (1 centimeter) of natural latex.
  • Next is 1.97 inches (5 centimeters) of “Dreamplush” supporting memory foam.
  • The final thin layer before the thick layer of pocketed coils is comprised of .59 inches (1.5 centimeters) of super dense, super soft memory foam.
  • The thickest layer is a 7.87-inch (20 centimeters) layer of individually pocketed “BestRest” coils. The coils come in two levels of resistance, and are placed in different ways in five comfort zones to ensure the right kind of support for the right part of your body.
  • The base layer is 1.6 inches (5 centimeters) of high density super soft memory foam base.

Construction Differences and Notes

  • Both mattresses should be more durable than average, with DreamCloud having a slight advantage.
  • Both mattresses incorporate individually pocketed coils in the support layer.
  • Both use memory foam or material that feels like memory foam.
  • Tomorrow Sleep has more of a memory foam feel.
  • DreamCloud Premier has more layers and a more complex overall construction.
  • Tomorrow Sleep has a side rail support system to reinforce edge support.

Firmness and Feel Differences

Watch the videos below to get a sense of how the mattresses respond to pressure. Note that the Tomorrow Sleep video is for the Medium Firm version, so expect the soft version to be softer and have more give. DreamCloud is firmer and has more spring than either option from Tomorrow Sleep.

Motion Transfer Differences

The videos below show off the differences in motion isolation. Both prevent motion from transferring and would be good options for couples. Before making a final decision, you should check out our other mattress comparisons like Tomorrow Sleep vs Amerisleep and DreamCloud Premier vs Leesa to see how these mattress differ from others.

Pick Tomorrow Sleep If:

  • You sleep on your side– Both options from Tomorrow Sleep are softer than the DreamCloud, making it a better mattress for side sleepers.
  • You like memory foam– While both companies use memory foam, Tomorrow Sleep has more of a classic memory foam feel.  If you have had success with memory foam in the past, Tomorrow Sleep may be the way to go.
  • You are on a budget– Tomorrow Sleep is less expensive than DreamCloud.  If you really can’t decide, you can at least save a little bit of money by going with the Tomorrow Sleep.

Pick DreamCloud Premier If:

  • You sleep on your stomach or back– DreamCloud is firmer than both firmness levels from Tomorrow Sleep.
  • You like bounce– Tomorrow Sleep is bouncier and more responsive, and returns to shape more quickly.
  • You want luxury– DreamCloud has a cashmere cover with hand-sewn tufts.

Overall

Both companies offer quality, but these mattresses have pretty different feels and are available at different price points. I hope this comparison was helpful. Please leave any specific questions in the comments.
