- In all versions, half an inch of transition foam separates the gel grid from the coil system beneath.
- The coil system contains 7.5″ of individually wrapped coils. These coils are made with a durable material and offer great support.

Casper Wave Construction
- On top is 1″ of proprietary “Flo Foam,” a soft material made to relieve pressure.
- The second layer is 1.5″ of latex foam. This layer provides some bounce and response.
- The middle layer is 1.5″ of fast-responding, visco-elastic memory foam, which contributes to the Wave’s springiness.
- The transition layer that comes next is formed by 1.5″ of high-resiliency foam with a polymer network. This layer works with the base layer to provide zoned support.
- The base is 5.5″ of support foam with contour cuts to create Casper Wave’s zoned support system.
- Casper Wave is wrapped in a thick, soft, durable cover that doesn’t affect the overall feel of the mattress significantly.
Construction Differences/Notes
- Both have responsive surfaces that are also pretty bouncy.
- Both conform to contours, but the Wave works better for side sleepers who weigh less.
- The Purple Hybrid Premier has coils, while the Wave uses foam in the base layer.

- You want something softer- Purple 3 and 4 are softer than Casper Wave and may offer enhanced pressure relief as a result.
Pick the Casper Wave If …
- You are combination sleeper- Casper Wave has zoned support, which makes it good for all sleep positions and people who switch positions at night.
- You want a traditional foam feel- Casper Wave uses memory foam and generally has a more traditional foam mattress feel than the Purple Hybrid Premier.
