Bamboo spreads quickly and, after it is cut down, it grows back in a short amount of time. It is also light, easy to transport, and does not create much waste when it is processed. Bamboo Mattress vs Latex
Bamboo and latex mattresses offer many of the same benefits. Namely, they are antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, and sleep cool. They also feature organic, sustainable materials.
However, that is where the similarities end. For example, bamboo is an infusion you’ll find in some type of foam, usually memory foam. Latex mattresses contain foam made from rubber trees. This makes latex mattresses even more eco-friendly than bamboo mattresses. The memory foam found in a bamboo mattress is much less sustainable than latex.
Latex is also much more durable than the majority of foams found in bamboo mattresses. While latex mattresses aren’t always the most affordable, they are usually a good investment. You’ll get at least 10 years out of a good latex mattress, while we can’t say the same for bamboo foam mattresses.
Finally, and this isn’t necessarily a benefit, latex is bouncier than bamboo memory foam. This really comes down to your personal preference. If you have mobility issues or simply want to move around more easily, latex will be the better option. However, if you prefer that slow-moving feel of memory foam, take a look at a bamboo mattress.
