Overall
From material to fit, these two protectors are very different, making the decision come down to personal needs.
For people who are looking for a mattress protector that is waterproof, easy to take on and off the bed and priced reasonably, the Luna may be the more ideal option.
RELATED: Best overall mattress protectors
Luna’s cotton terry protector can fit thicker mattresses and is easy to machine wash and dry. It will protect a mattress from water on the surface and keep general dust and allergens at bay.
Protect-A-Bed AllerZip protector is a great choice for people who have a serious need to keep bed bugs, dust, allergens and liquid damage far away.
This is an especially good choice for those with the following need:
- Keep bedbugs away at all costs
- Suffer from major allergy or asthma issues
- Have the potential for a lot of water/liquid on their mattress
Protect-A-Bed Allerzip has the option to completely seal off your mattress. It is also listed as a medical device and has been certified and lab tested to keep a mattress truly protected from allergens and asthma.
It is also nearly twice as expensive as the Luna protector and costs more than $100 when regularly priced.
Personally, I would choose the Protect-A-Bed Allerzip over the Luna protector. It had a better overall fit with my mattress and I think the price is worth it for the quality of the product.
