Luxome is a brand that’s all about bringing luxury products into your bedroom. These high-quality products really give off a luxury feel and might be a bit of an investment, but are somewhat more affordable than other similar options on the market. I’ve reviewed Luxome’s LAYR pillow and luxury bamboo sheets before and was impressed with their ability to not trap heat.
Overall Rating
When I saw that Luxome was offering a cooling weighted blanket with tons of options available, I was excited to try it out. Below is an overview of this weighted blanket. I should note, this chart goes over the specific model I tested, and doesn’t focus on any of the other options Luxome provides:
Who Might Like the Luxome Weighted Blanket? | Who Might Not Like the Luxome Weighted Blanket? |
Shoppers looking for style and color options | People who get cold quickly (opt for the minky version of this blanket instead) |
Hot sleepers | Shoppers looking specifically for a 20 or 25 lb weight option |
People looking for a light weighted blanket for children |
30-60 Min Nap With the Luxome Weighted Blanket
I’ve reviewed a lot of weighted blankets, and some of them claim to be “cooling” but more often than not, it just means they won’t trap heat. And I think that’s the case here with the Luxome weighted blanket.
I love bamboo products like this blanket because of their soft feel, natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties. Weighted blankets are going to provide some extra warmth, but when I pulled the Luxome weighted blanket, I didn’t really feel that much additional warmth. And that’s because of the bamboo duvet cover.
I spent close to an hour with this blanket over me, and not once did I feel hot or stuffy. The silky feel felt really nice against my skin, too. For this review, I tested out the 18 lb “large” blanket, and it’s exactly the size of a queen-size bed. There’s no overhang, but I didn’t find this much of a problem because I remained relatively still for my nap.
I do tend to toss and turn while I sleep, and while 18 lb didn’t feel super heavy for me, weighted blankets tend to keep me in one spot while I rest or sleep. So, if you’re always tossing and turning like I am, weighted blankets are usually a good way to go.

How Much Does the Luxome Weighted Blanket Weigh?
Luxome sells its weighted blanket in eight, 15, 18 and 30 lb weight options. The 8 lb option is ideal for older children or teenagers while the 15 and 18 lb options are ideal for some light-to-average weight adults. The 30 lb option only comes in a king-size blanket option and is intended for sharing.
If you’re not sure what weight option is ideal for your needs, the general rule of thumb is to take 10% of your body weight (divide your weight by 10) and that’ll give you a starting point. What weight option you pick is ultimately up to you, but the safest way to pick a weighted blanket is sticking to this 10% rule.

How Does the Luxome Weighted Blanket Feel?
There are two different types of feel to describe weighted blankets. The first is the overall feeling of the materials, and the second is how the blanket feels while using it. The bamboo duvet cover for my version of the blanket felt soft and silky. Right out of the box, it was a bit wrinkled because it had to be folded up. If you want an even softer and smoother feel before using it, I’d recommend washing the duvet cover first.
The blanket itself had some good weight to it. Often, weighted blankets are described as feeling “like a hug.” Personally, I think the blanket was a bit too light for me. For reference, I hover around 280 lb, so a more appropriate weight for me is about 25 lb, and I tested the 18 lb version.
But if you weigh anywhere between 150 to 200 lb, I think the 18 lb option should certainly feel cozy and calming.
Luxome Weighted Blanket Size Options & Prices
Because Luxome offers this blanket in a variety of options, the chart below will reflect the price of the model of the blanket I received, which was the blanket with a duvet cover. Prices may change depending on your model selection. The price will also not reflect any seasonal discount Luxome may be running at the time of writing.
It’s also worth noting that the 8 lb option is only available to those who select the integrated cover, and the 30 lb option is only available for those that select the blanket with a duvet cover.
Weight (Dimensions) | Price |
15 lb (54” x 72”) | $165 |
18 lb (60” x 80”) | $185 |
30 lb (100” x 85”) | $270 |

Let’s cover some other important considerations for the Luxome weighted blanket.
Sleeping Hot or Cold
If you get the weighted blanket with the bamboo lyocell duvet cover like I did, then this blanket shouldn’t trap heat. While I rested with this blanket, I never felt hot spots developing, nor did I feel the need to kick the blanket off.
I tend to run pretty hot naturally, so if you’re like me, this is a weighted blanket worth looking into. The bamboo lyocell is breathable and moisture-wicking, which means you won’t feel hot and sweaty with this version of the blanket.
Care Instructions
Everything about the Luxome weighted blanket is machine-washable. The duvet cover and the weighted insert as well as the version of the blanket with the integrated cover should be washed in cold water with a mild detergent.
They should also be the only thing you wash in that load. Weighted blankets are, obviously, heavy objects and can potentially ruin machines if your machines aren’t capable of handling heavy loads. Luxome also mentions that the XL 30 lb weighted insert should not be machine-washed at all for this very reason.
Allergies/Allergens?
Bamboo is a naturally hypoallergenic material. This version of the Luxome weighted blanket will not trap or attract allergens in your sleep environment. If you have a version of the blanket with a minky duvet cover, or the integrated cover, you should be able to eliminate allergens, dirt and dust by machine-washing.
Luxome Weighted Blanket Construction
There are a number of different styles to Luxome’s weighted blanket. From blankets that come with duvet inserts to those with sewn through designs, there’s a lot of variety. For this section, I’m going to focus on the version of the blanket I received, which was the blanket with a 100% bamboo lyocell duvet cover and the weighted insert.
The outer cover is made from, as mentioned, 100% bamboo lyocell. This has a soft, silk-like feeling and is breathable and moister-wicking. The insert is also made with bamboo lyocell, if you choose the model with the removable cover.
Along the sides of the insert and in the corners you’ll find loops to attach the insert to the outer cover and you’ll be able to zip it shut when everything is attached.Luxome uses glass microbeads to give the blanket its weight.
Company Policies
Let’s cover some company policies that Luxome offers when you make a purchase.
Warranty
As of right now, Luxome does not offer a warranty on its weighted blanket
Trial Period
Luxome offers a 30-day window to test out its weighted blanket.
Return Policy
If, during that 30-day period, you decide this isn’t the weighted blanket for you, you can initiate a return or exchange. Luxome makes a note for “customer preference returns.” If you’re returning a product because it didn’t meet your preferences, you’ll receive a prepaid shipping label, but the cost for that label will be deducted from your refund.
Exchanges, however, will be given free prepaid shipping labels.
How does Luxome Weighted Blanket Compare To Other Blankets
There are tons of weighted blankets out there on the market, and while Luxome certainly covers its bases with a variety of options, it’s still good to do some comparison shopping. Let’s compare the Luxome weighted blanket to blankets from Bearaby and Gravity.
Luxome vs Bearaby
The Bearaby blanket is one of my favorite weighted blankets, and I often compare weighted blankets to the Bearaby blanket because it’s unlike any other. While the Luxome weighted blanket has a traditional blanket or comforter style with a duvet cover, the Bearaby Tree Napper is a chunky knit weighted blanket that gets its weight from doubled up fabric.
Appearance aside, the blankets have more similarities than differences. Both the Tree Napper and the Luxome weighted blanket have options galore. While the Tree Napper is made with TENCEL™ lyocell, you can get it in velvet or cotton. Luxome offers bamboo lyocell or a mix of bamboo and minky fabric as well as color options.
But in terms of weight offerings, Bearaby has a more inclusive selection ranging from 15, 20 or 25 lb for the standard blankets, as well as a sharable 30 lb and options for children. Luxome only offers 15 or 18 lb for its standard sizes, or an 8 lb for children and a 30 lb for sharing depending on the model you get.
Who Should Get the Luxome Weighted Blanket? | Who Should Get the Bearaby Tree Napper? |
People weighing 150-200 lb | People looking for 20 or 25 lb weight options |
Fans of a traditional blanket feel | Fans of knit blankets |

Luxome vs Gravity
Gravity is another popular name in the weighted blanket market. Gravity has many options, but the flagship model is what the brand is known for. This version of the blanket has a soft, fuzzy minky outer cover. Luxome offers a half minky half bamboo outer cover or a completely bamboo duvet cover, which is what we’re comparing here.
Because of this, the standard Gravity blanket will work better for those who need a weighted blanket to offer some extra warth, get cold quickly or live in colder climates. Luxome will work better for hot sleepers who don’t want a weighted blanket to add extra warmth.
Gravity is the winner for heavier weight options for a single person, coming in 15, 20 and 25 lb options. Luxome only offers 15 and 18 lb options for individual use. However, the integrated cover comes in an 8 lb option for children. Both blankets come in king-size options with Gravity’s coming at 35 lb, and Luxome’s at 30 lb.

Luxome Cooling Weighted Blanket FAQs
Can the Luxome weighted blanket be washed?
Yes. All versions of the Luxome weighted blanket can be machine-washed. I recommend making sure that your washing machine and dryer can handle heavy loads, and washing the blanket and duvet cover (again depending on model) on their own load with nothing else. Use cold water and a mild detergent. Tumble dry on low heat or let air dry.
Is Luxome an American company?
Yes, Luxome is based out of Michigan.
What if I don’t like my Luxome weighted blanket?
You can return it or exchange the weighted blanket for a different model. When you initiate a return, Luxome will need to verify the reason why you are returning. If the answer is simply because it didn’t meet your preferences, Luxome will provide you with a prepaid shipping label, but deduct the price of shipping from your refund.
